The Hut goes to the top of the world

Written on the 10th of November 2009

Bitter cold, altitude sickness and exhaustion were just a few of the challenges faced by our crew when they recently completed a two week project in the Himalaya.

The promotional video was for London company Mountain Kingdoms and involved a 14-day trek to Everest Base Camp, using specialist lightweight equipment to cope with the cold temperatures.

Producer Melanie Kent said the trek was breathtaking and followed the Khumbu glacier up to the top of Kala Pattar, a mountain overlooking Base Camp with amazing views of Everest.

"This was a life-changing trek, to see Everest up close just can not be described, and the feeling of achievement was phenomenal," Ms Kent said.

"Our Sherpa Dorjee has summitted Everest seven times, so we were in good company."

The final video will be available on the Mountain Kingdoms website soon....we'll let you know so you can check it out!
